The Diversity and Inclusion Office aim to enhance understanding of para sports, encouraging empathy, respect, and unity among participants to foster a harmonious campus community.

Para floor curling, adapted from traditional curling, is played on a smooth indoor surface without ice, retaining its strategic and technical essence. Players glide stones toward a target, emphasizing precision and teamwork. Its inclusive design welcomes individuals of all ages and abilities, accommodating wheelchairs, assistive devices, or personalized techniques. With its low-impact nature and flexible rules, it’s an ideal activity for fostering social interaction and active participation within diverse campus communities.

Covering disciplines like taekwondo, it adapts movements and equipment to suit wheelchairs, limb differences, or neurological conditions. The sport enhances coordination, confidence, and emotional resilience, while promoting respect and discipline. Beyond competition, it serves as a platform for diverse expressions of ability, advancing equality and empowerment, and strengthening personal growth and campus community bonds.

Para fencing is a sport that extends the elegance and intensity of traditional fencing to athletes of all abilities, while breaking physical boundaries and redefining agility, strategy, and courage.

Adapted for individuals with physical or sensory impairments, it features secured wheelchairs for stability and tactile aids for visually impaired fencers, ensuring accessibility without compromising the sport’s core elements of precision, tactical thinking, and quick reflexes.

A classification system groups athletes based on mobility and balance to ensure fair competition, welcoming participants of all ages and skill levels. Para fencing enhances physical fitness, focus, and confidence, while fostering a strong sense of community and mutual support.
